Arbutin: Lightens dark spots, enhances the skin tone making it look bright and radiant.
A naturally occurring derivative of hydroquinone and a skin depigmenting agent, arbutin is widely used in skincare products due to its excellent skin lightening action. It inhibits melanin synthesis in addition to benefiting the skin with its antioxidant properties. Also used as medication in treating hyperpigmentation disorders including melasma, arbutin is a magical ingredient that unveils amazing effects on spot reduction and skin brightening. It also improves skin texture making it more even and also tackles concerns of sun damage. Lending a clear and radiant skin, it provides a natural youthful glow and is suitable for all skin types. A plant-based natural botanical extract, arbutin prevents the skin from photo-damage, acne flares and fights the signs of premature ageing.
Glycolic Acid: Exfoliates the skin, fights the signs of ageing, increases collagen production and retains hydration
Adept at exfoliating the top layer of skin to reveal fresher, smoother skin, glycolic acid is one of the most researched alpha-hydroxy acids vastly employed in skincare products. Ensuring a firmer, younger skin by boosting collagen production, the acid helps fade brown spots that are caused by sun damage. It is also potent at reducing hyperpigmentation by dispersing melanin in the skin and speeding up the process of fading pigmentation and spots including those left behind by acne. It also increases the thickness of the skin, stimulating new skin growth and ensuring a brighter complexion as a result. By getting rid of the top layer of the skin, which has the most dead cells, glycolic acid helps treat the patches of dry skin facilitating better absorption enabling other beneficial skincare components to perform better.
pTeroWhite:
A potent ingredient of Indian origin, pTeroWhite is derived from the plant Vijaysar. The scientific name of the plant is Pterocarpus marsupium or the Indian Kino and has been widely used in traditional medicine. Owing to the wide range of health benefits it offers, it continues to be used in local medicinal uses and the Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathic systems of medicine. The dried wood of the plant yields a standardised extract containing 90 per cent pterostilbene, which is a natural structural analog of resveratrol. It is known to moisturize the skin making it appear brighter, firmer, and even-toned.
Niacinamide: Inhibits melanin production by reducing the transfer of melanosomes
Niacinamide inhibits the oxidative processes that are responsible for producing Amadori products. Amadori products are yellowish brown in colour and accumulate in skin matrix components like collagen as one advances in age; Niacinamide helps tackle the detrimental effects of such processes. Niacinamide also enhances the skin’s barrier function, decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promotes skin elasticity.
Silymarin:
Extracted from the milk thistle plant, Silymarin has been anciently used in the cure for liver diseases. However, it came to be known later that it has a myriad of cosmetic benefits as well. A brilliant naturally occurring antioxidant, it offers protection from the harmful effects of sun exposure and works well for hyperpigmented and acne prone skin. It tackles skin ageing and is especially beneficial in rejuvenating stressed and dull skin. Anti-inflammatory in nature, it is useful in treating blemishes, hyperpigmentation and acne.
Lactic Acid:
An alpha-hydroxy acid, lactic acid improves the overall texture of the skin while removing dead skin cells and lightening dark spots. Suitable for use even on sensitive skin, it is a simple compound with great benefits widely used in skin care products. Also used in progressive skin treatments and to treat advanced skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Lactic acid is naturally found in dairy products. No wonder dairy products like milk and yogurt have been widely used in different forms of skin care routines. The acid enables a faster cell turnover and keeps the skin hydrated and naturally moist. This ensures you get a softer, brighter skin with an even skin tone and great texture.
Licorice extract:
Also known as healer’s root, licorice extract helps control hyperpigmentation by limiting the production of melanin. This ensures that the skin appears naturally bright and youthful. Widely used in a variety of skin care products, regular use of licorice extract is known to fade the appearance of dark spots, blemish marks, help even out the skin tone and treat discoloration. It also helps soothe irritated skin and provides antioxidant benefits. It is also used as a safe replacement of retinol for pregnant women and is considered to be a super ingredient that helps fight the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays.
